Thesis

The theme of this year is “ALCHEMY”.

For those who don’t know, this is what WIKIPEDIA says about it:

“Alchemy is an influential philosophical tradition whose early practitioners’ claims to profound powers were known from antiquity.

The defining objectives of alchemy are varied; These include the creation of the fabled philosopher’s stone possessing powers including the capability of turning base metals into the noble metals gold or silver- as well as an elixir of life conferring youth and immortality. In general alchemists believe in a natural and symbolic unity of humanity with the cosmos.

Lately western alchemy has become recognized as the proto-typical protoscience presaging the seminal western sciences such as chemistry and medicine. Alchemists nurtured a framework of theory, terminology, experimental process and basic lab techniques still recognizable today. But alchemy differs from modern science in the inclusion of Hermetic principles and practices related to mythology, religion, and spirituality.”

So, after investigating and reading more about it, this is my conclusion:

We, humans, don’t invent things, we just discover them. We didn’t create electricity, we just learned how to control it.

We are investigating animals with amazing feautres or capacities, like the Axolotl or Ambystoma mexicanum. This animal has the ability to regenerate exery single part from its body, not only the tail or the legs, but also the brain.

At the end, the subject I’ve choosed is POISON. My way of interpretating poison is through the arrow frogs: really small frogs that have an extremely poweful poison on their skins. Those animals warn other animals of their poisioness through their skin, with amazing patterns and vibrant and contrastes mixes of colours.
